HPCL-VPA ink MoU to enhance OSTT Berth capacity

Visakhapatnam An MOU has been signed between Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) for constructing two additional breasting dolphins at Offshore Tanker Terminal (OSTT) Berth for handling medium range crude vessels.
The cost of the project is estimated at Rs 13.36 crore which will enhance the capacity of the berth from 8.23 MMTPA to 15 MMPTA. The facility will be commissioned within 18 months from the date of issue of work order, a senior official of VPA said on Thursday.
The MoU was signed by VPA Chairperson Dr M Angamuthu, Chief General Manager (Retail) of HPCL Singupalli Hari Prasad. The signing ceremony was attended by heads of concerned departments from VPA and HPCL. VPA Secretary Venu Gopal said the project is being taken up on a fast-track mode.
